St. Mary's Basilica

Called the "crown of the city of Gdansk" is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the largest brick Gothic church in Europe, was created 159 years in several stages in the years 1343-1502. The interior houses many fine works of medieval and baroque art, including stone Pieta from about 1410, a copy of the Last Judgement painted by Hans Memling in the year 1472, the astronomical clock made ​​in the years 1464-1470 by Hans Düringer or the main altar built in the years 1510 to 1517 by Master Michael of Augsburg. The length of the building, including the buttresses of the tower is 105.5 meters, vaults date back to 30 m above the floor. High at 77.6 m (up to the roof ridge 82 m) massive lookout tower topped with small gallery from which you can admire the city skyline. It leads to almost 400 degrees! Basilica can "visit" the blind, the square before the church stands a bronze cast bronze model in 1:100 scale.
